Fèidh a' Mhonaidh — deer of the hill
Hand-feed reindeer on a highland hillside.
Britain's only free-ranging reindeer herd lives in the Cairngorms — and they will eat from your hands. A full private day from Edinburgh through Highland Perthshire to the hill, the herd, and back. £465 per car, 1–3 guests.
How the day runs
North by Highland Perthshire
An early, comfortable start — the A9 north through Perthshire's big-tree country, with a coffee stop at Pitlochry or House of Bruar on the way.
Onto the hill
From Glenmore we join the guided hill trip: a gentle 20–40 minute walk onto the open hillside where the herd free-ranges, weather and reindeer permitting.
Feed the herd
Reindeer come to you — calm, curious and velvet-nosed. Hand-feeding is part of the visit, and the photographs take themselves.
Aviemore lunch, silent return
Lunch in Aviemore while the car drinks at the Supercharger — range is planned so you never think about it — then a glass-roofed glide home through the mountains.

The tour nobody else is running
Plenty of drivers will take you to a castle. Only one private Tesla tour from Edinburgh ends with a reindeer's chin in your palm on an open Cairngorm hillside. In winter the herd wear their white coats and the hills wear theirs — and the seasonal Reindeer & Lights variant of this day runs into the festive season.
The distance is exactly why it's private: five hours of driving is a chore on a coach and a pleasure in a quiet car with the glass roof, your music, and a driver who knows where the light falls.
